Ecuador is the 1st Nation in the World To Give Nature Rights Via Its Constitution

Exit polls indicate that a majority of Ecuadorians have voted yes to a new constitution. The constitution is the first in the world’s history to grant nature legal rights, and also to allow individuals to sue on nature’s behalf in courts. It is a major victory for Ecuador’s President, Rafael Correa.

EPA's New Google Earth-Based Mash-UP of Renewable Energy Resources on Contaminated Lands

According to the EPA, many lands tracked by the agency, such as large Superfund sites, and mining sites offer thousands of acres of land, and may be situated in areas where the presence of wind and solar structures are less likely to be met with aesthetic, and therefore political, opposition.

House Stops Water Diversion from the Great Lakes
